Baleares 2024 was a glorious return to the two-boat format in the infamous archipelago.
Only this time, we were entrusted with something completely unreal: Germania V. A 66ft classic yacht from 1955, wooden rig, timeless lines, and the kind of presence that instantly lowers voices when she enters a bay. She's a monument that we owe to a family friend who amazingly let us set sail with her.
With perfect weather and two boats roaming together, we traced the most dramatic anchorages of Ibiza and Mallorca. Long tacks under sail, quiet arrivals, golden evenings at anchor. Less noise, fewer accidents, more miles done properly.
It wasn’t mayhem. And that was the point. Germania V delivered magic without effort, and the Mediterranean played along.
It was our second two-boat cruise in the Baleares, and the one that sealed it: the confirmation of the mid-term mini-cruise format. A tradition between the roaring summer monsters — smaller, calmer, and just as essential.
